The Storyteller Squad

Almost goodbye (but here’s where you can enjoy many of our book reviews)

As I get ready to say goodbye to you here on the Storyteller Squad blog, I realize that I never officially introduced myself to all you readers! While other authors have been familiar faces to you for years, I joined the Squad last year.

I’ve posted a few book reviews; here are two in case you missed them the first time around:

The Unraveling of Emlyn Dulaine by Lindsay A. Franklin

The Daughters of Peverell series by Hannah Currie

So who am I and why might you want to keep up with me (and my writing) beyond Storyteller Squad land?

  • I’m a Southern girl (lived in Georgia all my life) who’s married to her college sweetheart, thanks to some matchmaking efforts by friends who sang in college chorus with us.
  • I’ve been an avid reader and writer all my life (and work as a writer/editor for my day job, so words truly are my world).
  • I learned to read almost by accident! My mom (a kindergarten teacher) thought the theories about teaching kids to read by phonics sounded crazy. She decided to try the method with me to disprove the theories — and was shocked when I was suddenly reading everything in sight (but we won’t talk about my atrocious spelling …).
  • I write fiction and nonfiction. On the nonfiction side, I’ve had three devotional books (including one for middle/high school girls) and lots of articles published in various places. On the fiction side, I’m tinkering with a YA dystopian novel while several ideas for sweet/clean romance for women percolate. No matter who the audience is, I want the words to help readers see that there is always hope in the world and that God sees them, knows them, and loves them.

Where you can find me (and bright spots for your feeds)

A new place for Storyteller Squad book reviews

If you’ve especially enjoyed the book reviews here at Storyteller Squad, I’d also love for you to check out my other blog, Clean Fiction Book Reviews. I read books meant for different age groups (middle grades, YA, and adult) and enjoy multiple genres (dystopian, fantasy, romance, romantic suspense, thriller, historical, contemporary … basically anything but horror and most paranormal).

And—even better—many of the fantastic Storyteller Squad book reviews you enjoyed here will find a new home at Clean Fiction Book Reviews. It will be a slow process (just being honest!), but I’m excited about giving them a new home and keeping our writers’ perspectives alive.

How do you get them? Just enter your email in the “Follow blog via email” box at Clean Fiction Book Reviews and click the “Follow” button underneath. It will be a great way to build your TBR (to be read) list!

Thanks for your love and support of the Storyteller Squad! We appreciate you and hope you’ll stay in touch!

With hope and joy,

Leigh

Leigh DeLozier

Leigh was a fluent reader long before entering preschool – all because her schoolteacher mom tried to debunk the claims of using phonetics to teach children to read at earlier-than-usual ages. The theory proved to be sound and she’s been reading anything and everything ever since (we won’t talk about how long it took her to become a decent speller).

Now she works as a corporate writer/editor by day and a Christian writer, blogger, and book reviewer by night. She is the author of three devotional books, a graduate of She Speaks, and a member of American Christian Fiction Writers and Word Weavers International.

Leigh and her husband live in Georgia and are bracing themselves for empty nest life in 2026. Meanwhile, their orange cat Morris continues his attempts to solidify his rank as ruler of the house.
