Have you ever eaten goat stomach? I have. It was tough and rubbery. I had to chew each bite a long time before I could swallow it, and later in the day, I burped a lot. And I mean BURPED.

Fortunately, for all of us, books and stories—through imagination—offer the chance to try new things and experience adventures, without indigestion.
I like to read and write about spunky characters who face hard challenges and rise above them. My book More than Grit, was inspired by a true story my grandma told me. It’s a middle grade adventure set in rural Kansas during the Great Depression. It recently won the young adult American Christian Fiction Writer’s Genesis award. I’m busy writing a sequel called I Be Brave while I look for a publisher for both books.
