Venture Onward, Dear Readers!

It’s the end of an era! But not the end of the road.

We have all enjoyed writing these blogs for you, dear readers. Thank you for being here.

So who is Kristen Gwen? Here’s a little glimpse of…

Writer Land

I’m just a girl with a dream. Well, many dreams.

My top dreams as a kid:

  1. To be a veterinarian
  2. To be an astronaut
  3. To go to Star Fleet Academy
  4. To be a writer like Jo March in Little Women

Only one of those dreams came true (Psst! It’s number 4). I’m not great at math or science and I’m claustrophobic so space travel was out. Oh, and I don’t live in the 24th century. However, I did combine all those dreams and shoved them into the stories I write. Most recently, I sent chickens into space. Hence, Ophelia Starcluck, my brave and adventurous space chicken. I hope you’ll check out her stories and share them with the kiddos in your life.

I also wrote a book called Rocket Writers, a guide for helping teens write their own stories of brilliance and greatness.

I’m in the process of editing book 4 of Ophelia’s adventures. It’s giving me a hard time, but I shall overcome!! Stay tuned for it’s release coming sometime in the near future. In order to stay tuned, check out the paragraph below!

Before we leave writer land, I’d love it if you’d join my newsletter. As a bonus, just for joining, you’ll get the audio book for Ophelia Starcluck Saves the Galaxy for free 🙂

Also check out my website for more about me and a picture of a cute kitty (that has since sadly passed on)!

And now we leave writer land to head to…

Reality Land

Snippets of reality land:

I’m a homeschooling mom of two teenage girls (Pray for me!!).

I teach drama classes to kids with Journey Theater in Vancouver, WA.

And I perform in local theater productions, mostly at Love Street Playhouse in Woodland, WA. My most recent role was Shelby Thorpe in the musical, The Spitfire Grill, and I had the time of my life with that show. So much fun! One of my favorite roles was playing Patsy Cline in Always, Patsy Cline. I’ve performed this role twice, and it’s been an amazing experience stepping into the boots of this iconic lady. My other favorite role was Sherlock Holmes in the gender-swapping Miss Holmes where we get to imagine how Sherlock would be treated in Victorian England if he was a woman. (Hint, I’m in the insane asylum quite a bit.)

Future Land

I hope you’ll join my newsletter so we can stay in touch, and if you are around the Southwest Washington area, I hope you’ll join me for any craft fairs and markets I may be selling at. Or if you have a hankering for some theater, look me up too.

Until we meet again, I hope you are blessed and that you’re also working on those sometimes elusive dreams. They’re wily things, but so much fun when you grab hold of them.

And now, as Ophelia Starcluck says, Venture Onward!!
