The Storyteller Squad

Book Review for The Chase

Where are my dystopian fans?

The Chase provides a clean read that explores a dystopian world that revolves around a chase.

This book was a cross between a sports book and a dystopian with in depth characters. It didn’t grab my attention right away but when it did, I was hooked. In this world, there is a race where the winner gets to change one law. The racers train in a space station and are completely ignorant about their society because they are reprogrammed often. The thought of someone taking away your memories and implanting new ones was both frightening and interesting.

Willis starts to question his government when a new racer arrives with knowledge about the outside world.

I think this is perfect for boys and girls 13+.

  • Dystopian
  • Mild violence (Nothing too descriptive)
  • A hint of romance but it’s not the focus
  • Overall clean

Question to ask after reading The Chase

  1. What is the social order in the World Coalition?
  2. Do you think Willis was a good leader for his team? Why or why not?
  3. What impact will Jaden’s new rule have on the World Coalition? Was it a good move or should he have done something different?
