The other day I came across the following quote:
“When you write for God, and you really mean it . . . your work may never show up on the shelves at Lifeway. It may never find its way into bound print at all. But when you write for God, when you write with the heart of a servant . . . you may find that your words are only meant for the guy sitting next to you. If you can accept this . . . live with it . . . then you can truly write for God.” ~Alton Gansky
Since I’m currently feeling like a below-average writer living in a world of seemingly above-average writers, the reminder that I don’t have to be a household name or get on the New York Time’s best-seller list in order to be a “good and faithful servant” in the eyes of the Lord comes as a relief. I simply have to use the measure of talents God has given me for His glory, and He will take it from there. Though I’ll never know how many (or few) people recognize my name or my books, I can at least rest easy knowing the seven years it took me to write two books was done for His glory, to the best of my abilities. And that’s all He asks of me.
Perhaps today, you could use the reminder, as well. No one defines your value, your worth, your “success,” your aptitude, or your potential but God. 🙂
Thank you for this! Needed the reminder today!
You’re welcome! 🙂
I love this! Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing your work with the world. I, for one, love everything you write! Tinsel is my favorite Christmas elf! 😉😊
Thank you! <3
Good words!
Leah sent me your eBook a while back. I admit I never got into it (sorry I must be old school) but a week or so ago she sent the actual physical book, I started reading it and couldn’t put it down, devoured it in two days. It is just so cute, I love all the characters and can’t wait for the sequel.

Yay, I’m glad you enjoyed it! 😀 Ebooks aren’t for everyone. There’s something thrilling about whisking through paper pages, and I personally find I get more immersed in the story via a physical book than ebooks or audio–though I confess I turn to the latter two forms more often lately because of convenience and time. 😛
