Joyful reading

Need a little joy? It begins with Jesus. Take time to savor and read about the birth of Jesus. No other novel or story can compete with the miracle and story of God’s gift.  And His amazing grace is for everyone. It changed my life, and God’s story is not only life-changing but life-giving. The famous carol is true: Joy to the world, the Lord is come.

And before the Christmas season unwinds, put Tinsel in a Tangle by Laurie Germaine, on your holiday book list. It’s a light romance for teens, filled with twists and turns in the make-believe, winter-wonderland of Flitterndorf.  Germaine, one of our own Storytellersquad writers, sprinkles humor throughout her book as characters spout Christmas quips in moments of surprise or exasperation. By holly jolly, you can look up Laurie here: https://www.lauriegermaine.com/

Tinsel, an elf, struggles with being too tall. However, her number one problem is not her height. It’s Santa’s grandson, Nicklas. Their on-again-off-again friendship keeps Tinsel unbalanced, but she falls into trouble when she blows up a portion of Santa’s workshop days just days before Christmas. Never mind that it was an accident. Her penalty is to muck and clean the barn of Nicklas’ Third Team, his reindeer in-training. You’ll love the quirky personalities of these four-legged characters and laugh at their Scottish accents. (Oh, didn’t you know that reindeer talk?) This happy-ending book is quick to read and encourages teens to seek their own talents rather than compare themselves to others

Along with all the writers from the Storytellersquad, I wish you a Merry Christmas and joyful reading throughout the new year.
