Make someone happy tomorrow. Send him or her a card.
It’s National Send A Friend A Card Day!
Don’t you love receiving a surprise card in the mail? Especially if you’re not feeling well or are sad. And sometimes you receive a card for no reason at all. It’s uplifting! It makes you smile! It can even make you giggle.
In this information age of immediate texts and emails, it’s fun to hold an envelope and guess what kind of card is inside. Does it also contain a handwritten letter? A photo? Money?
I can always count on my Aunt Cheryl to send me a birthday card each year. She has faithfully done this every year since I was born. I used to get bunches of cards in the mail on my birthday. Now, I only receive one from her. It delights her to send cards. She doesn’t expect anything in return. She simply wants to bring a smile to my face. I believe it’s a ministry God laid on her heart.
This is a loving example of what Jesus had in mind when He advised us, “It is more blessed to give than receive” (Acts 20:35).
Go all out tomorrow. Send cards to everyone you know who could use a smile. And leave me a comment below about how it goes.
Yes, I love to send cards and receive cards. What a special blessing to open the mailbox and find a note from a friend. 🙂
