Fun Reads Friday: Join a Launch Team!

Usually on Fridays we share books we have read, but today I’m going to share a book that WILL be read.

Did you know I have a book coming out? My YA novel, The Main Dish, will be released by Morgan James Publishing in July 2020. I’m not going to lie…I’m pretty excited about it.

Today I’m giving you a sneak peek!

“Mom left, and I stayed still, trying to wrap my mind around what had just happened. I wanted to play in the festival so badly. It would have been the perfect start to my junior year of high school. I wouldn’t have been invisible anymore.”

Scarlet Williams is on the cusp of her dreams. She’ll be the youngest person ever to play violin at the highly attended Summerset Festival. The popular crowd will definitely notice her now. Especially Finn O’Neal. But her joy is short-lived when her little sister gets cast in the nationally televised cooking show, Young Gourmet. Her parents make her give up her chair so they can spend their summer in L.A. The spotlight she worked so hard for shines bright on Sadie. Scarlet will do whatever she can to keep the attention of her friends at school. But is she willing to pay the price that kind of attention will cost?

Which is stronger: the bond of sisters, or the pull of fame? The Main Dish examines what happens when the success of someone eclipses one’s own success.

Will you join my launch team?

Every new book that comes out needs a launch team! Launch teams are groups of people that help spread the word about the new book. It’s easy and fun to be on a launch team. Here’s what you do:

  1. Get an advanced copy of the book, either in print or PDF format
  2. Read it, before it’s officially published
  3. Here’s the important part: post reviews about the book on Amazon, Goodreads, and Barnes&Noble as soon as you can.
  4. Spread the word by sharing posts about the book on your social media

What do you think? Does it sound like fun to you? I’m looking for about 10 more people to join my launch team! The Main Dish will release in July 2020, but my launch team will get to read it by the end of the year. Want in on that?

Victoria Kimble

Victoria is a wife, a mom to three girls, a full-fledged homebody, a so-so housekeeper, a mediocre musician and has dreamed of writing her whole life. She lives at the foot of the Rockies in Littleton, Colorado and she will never take that for granted. She has spent most of her life living in Colorado, with a brief six-year hiatus to live in Nebraska to attend college and get married. She is mostly a stay-at-home mom, but dabbles in a variety of other odd jobs, such as doing admin work and crocheting beard hats in the winter. She loves meat and potatoes, superhero TV shows and movies, and when the weather stays between 70 and 80 degrees. She could probably love the beach if she ever spent any time there.

Victoria spent her childhood reading and making friends with the characters in her favorite books. She never grew out of that. After many years of wondering, she decided it was time to write the stories she had always dreamed of writing. She hopes that her stories model an active Christian lifestyle, while feeding the insatiable sense of wonder and adventure that everyone has deep inside.
